How to join your Hoot Reading lessons

Before the scheduled lesson time, connect your device to Wi-Fi and log in to the Hoot Reading App If you don't remember your password, use the I forgot my password button on the login page to set a new one.

Once logged in, select your scheduled child's profile. This should take you to your child's Hoot Library.

10 minutes before the lesson start time, the join lesson button will appear in a pop up in the centre of the screen. If you don't see it, check the top right corner for a notification to pop it up again. Join the lesson whenever your child is ready.

A get-ready window will appear to ensure that your child's audio and video are configured properly. You will need to grant your browser access to a microphone and camera (note: double check whether external headphones are selected).

Once audio and video are successfully enabled and your child can see themselves in the get-ready window, press join lesson (or the big green checkmark) again to connect with your child's teacher.

If you join before the teacher, you will see the Hoot Kids book that your child can flip through while they wait.

If needed, your child can leave and re-join the lesson at any time before the lesson ends. Once the lesson has ended, a button will no longer be available to join the lesson.
