Position: Recruitment Specialist
Term: July 2026 to February 2027 (with potential for extension based on business needs)
Flexible Hours: Flexible scheduling options available, including part-time (15–30 hours/week) and full-time opportunities. Availability during evening and weekend hours is required to accommodate candidate schedules and support high-volume hiring.
Location: Remote Within Canada (Headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Reports to: Director of Operations, Tutoring

Hoot Reading is a leading online tutoring provider delivering 1:1, evidence-based literacy instruction through a network of qualified teachers. Partnering with K–12 school districts, educational organizations, and families across North America, Hoot provides high-impact tutoring and intervention support to help transform children's lives through literacy.

Working directly with the Teacher Success team and Director of Tutoring Operations, the Recruitment specialist will own and execute the full-cycle recruitment process for designated hiring regions. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a high-quality pipeline of educators to support Hoot's growth and staffing needs for the 2026–2027 school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own full-cycle recruitment from sourcing to offer acceptance and from orientation through to live lessons.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified teacher candidates across assigned states and regions.
  • Develop sourcing strategies using job boards, social media, referrals, educator networks, and direct outreach.
  • Manage high-volume candidate pipelines and hiring targets while maintaining a high-quality candidate experience and effective communication.
  • Leverage Fountain ATS to track recruitment performance, optimize workflows, and improve funnel conversion.
  • Monitor recruitment metrics and provide regular reporting on hiring progress and forecasted outcomes.
  • Partner with Operations and Teacher Success teams to align recruitment efforts with staffing demand.
  • Ensure hiring practices remain compliant with applicable employment regulations.

The ideal candidate:

  • 2+years of recruiting experience, including full-cycle recruiting in a fast paced environment.
  • Proven success managing high-volume recruitment and hiring targets, ideally within education, tutoring, healthcare, customer support, or other large-scale talent pools.
  • Experience using ATS platforms and recruitment data to drive decision-making.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a remote, results-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to work evenings  and weekends.
