Hoot Reading is a rapidly growing, mission driven EdTech company that aims to help as many kids as possible to become not only proficient, but excellent, readers. Through our online tutoring platform, we provide children with live, 1:1 reading lessons with experienced classroom teachers. 

The company — which is headquartered in Canada and has teachers and students throughout North America —  was incubated on a research project at the Nokia Research Lab in partnership with Sesame Workshop (Sesame Street) and the Joan Ganz Cooney Center. We are backed by Spin Master Ventures, the leading global children’s entertainment company behind world-class children’s brands such as Paw Patrol, Etch a Sketch, Toca Boca, and Sago Mini.

We are looking for a customer experience professional to support in executing functions related to our day-to-day business operations and managing our growing client base. They will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring that team members are in compliance with SOP, and monitoring and actively coaching the team to ensure quality service to customers. This is an amazing opportunity to make a tangible contribution within a rapidly growing, mission driven company. 


What’s on your plate:

  • Ensure all team members are following SOP
  • Seek new talent and conduct onboarding for new hires
  • Offer live coaching and support to team
  • Conduct performance reviews and developments
  • Partner with direct manager to action customer related issues/feedback
  • Identify KPI and ticket trends
  • Support parents with managing schedules, timelines, and membership plans
  • Assist teachers with inquiries about live lessons related to students, schedules, or troubleshooting tech
  • Provide above and beyond customer experience to parents and teachers
  • Complete various reports related to our day to day operations

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Extremely organized, very organized and did we mention you must be organized?
  • Experience with customer service, friendly and able to handle customer concerns
  • Experience troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Tech savvy
  • Leadership experience (preferred)
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, international student, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Candidate must have access to their own laptop and smartphone
